Beautiful Plain Baptist Church is predominantly an African-American Church with approximately 150 members. Beautiful Plain is a Church that cultivates and embraces diversity. We hold dual affiliation with the American Baptist Association, a 1.5 million member association of racially, ethnically and culturally diverse Christian Churches (churches are not governed by the association, ABC churches have complete autonomy with respect to how it practices its faith).

 

We are also affiliated with the National Baptist Convention, the largest incorporated body of African-American Churches. Founded in 1924, we have existed as an organized body of believers and a witness of Jesus Christ in Binghamton, New York.

 

The Church Where Everybody Is Somebody, BPBC is an active Church family who seek to advance the Kingdom of God through public worship, preaching the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, Christian education, evangelism and consistent Christian living.

 

BPBC has taken an active role in the community partnering with agencies that are committed to improving the quality of life of its residence. BPBC is currently an active participant with the All Women’s Help Center. We are actively involved with the Broome County Council of Churches (BC3), The NAACP, The Urban league and BPBC is a member of Broome County Chamber of Commerce. We lend support to various other agencies in the community when called upon.
